Mama, it’s time to let go of your guilt. Let go of guilt for wanting to take care of yourself, for needing space to rebalance or reset. It is incredibly important that you take the time for self care. As a mom, you are called upon to keep track of so many things, your list of duties and responsibilities are often longer than what one person should have. Release all guilt for needing to take a break. I know it is hard, especially when our kids, work, family, etc are pulling on us in different directions. How can you help fill their cup if yours is empty?
You need to see that you matter so much that self care is a priority for you. This doesn’t mean everything else just falls by the wayside. It means you can meet each situation with renewed confidence, energy and with a deeper connection. It means you have the ability to read one more book before bed to your kids, it means you can show up at your meeting refreshed and prepared. Self care is so incredibly important for your survival with this thing called life. Let go of the guilt, see your self as worthy, make yourself a priority.
Self care can mean many things. It can be making sure you are getting enough water to drink or going to bed at a reasonable time. It can be choosing a healthier lunch. Making time to read the book that has been on your nightstand for months. It could be a moms night out or in. It could be deciding to lay on the sofa while your kids nap, whether it’s for 5 minutes or more. The point is that you take the time to care for yourself, which will make it easier for you to care for everyone else in your life. Plus our kids learn from watching us, the way we treat ourselves has a big impact on them. Show them how to care for themselves, show them how important it is to make sure self care is a priority. You will be doing them a huge service. Self care can help you be the mama you want to be. So mama, lose the guilt.
