Holistic Seasonal Living Journal Prompts

Holistic seasonal living is at the core of everything I do and offer. Each seasons brings with it chances for new experiences, reflection, growth and opportunities. While I admit that I am not the best at sticking to a regular journaling routine, I do like to set intentions and journal about my hopes and reflections at the start of each season. Today I want to share with you some prompts you can come back to over and over again with each new season.

  • What stand out experiences occurred in the last season?
  • What experiences do you want to forget about or release?
  • Is there a particular thing you did that you want to carry over into the next season?
  • Is there something you want to leave behind?
  • What is your main goal for the season to come?
  • How will you further your education around your main goal?
  • What is one must have experience or task for this season?
  • What relationships do you want to nourish?
  • What relationships do you want to let go?
  • Is there a new hobby or craft you want to try?
  • What book(s) would you like to read this season?
  • What family traditions do you want to start this season?
  • What new food/recipes do you want to make this season?
  • What new plants do you want to grow this season and why?
  • What herb(s) do you want to make a connection to this season and why?
  • What self care practices do you want to continue or implement this season?
  • What are your overall thoughts about the past season?
  • What are your overall thoughts about the upcoming season?
  • Think about ways you can support your community and write about your ideas.
  • What is one thing you are yearning for this season?
  • What is one skill you’d like to hone this season?
  • What area did you grow most in this past season?
  • What area do you want to grow most in this season?
  • Think about and decide on a word that you want to represent the season, a word to root in, to come back to again and again. Think of it as a guide post for how you want to live this season.

These prompts can help get you started on centering in on your intentions for the season, seeing what works, what you want more of, less of, etc. Whether you journal regularly or seasonally, getting your thoughts, goals and intentions onto paper can really help you see what is important to you and the way you want to live. It is also a great way to look back and see how things were in the past, how much you have changed or how you have stayed consistent. These prompts are meant as a jumping off point to help you get started. Definitely allow for free flow writing and explore the why’s behind your answers to these prompts, that is where the real heart of your intentions are.
