Happy Garlic Day!


Garlic is an easy to grow nutritional powerhouse! I love growing this culinary and medicinal herb. I add it to almost all of my meal prep as well as to wellness infusions, etc. when someone may have a cold or other illness. It is an excellent source of manganese and vitamin B6, it is considered a good source of vitamin C and copper. I always crush it then let it sit for about 10 minutes to let its magic start. (Activating certain components to create allicin, think of the antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal actions.) More of garlics herbal actions include: carminative, stimulating diaphoretic and expectorant, immune modulating, vermifuge to name a few! It is great in fire cider, a simple infusion of lemon juice, warm water and a dash of honey, if you use honey. I generally add more garlic than called for in recipes depending on how the recipe is written and what it is that I am making. I love garlic! 🧄
