The month of March is really the kick off to the growing season around here. There are some things already sown in seed pots or soil blocks before March. March is when we really start sowing seeds including those first few rounds we will succession sow throughout the growing season for my location. (This doesn’t include fall season crops of course.) As soon as the calendar is flipped to March I am well prepared for the coming season and beyond excited for what’s to come in the garden and kitchen! Today I thought I would share a peak at what I will be starting (mostly indoors) with a few exceptions in the month of March. Remember to have patience with sowing seeds for warm weather crops. (Tomatoes and peppers really shouldn’t be started until 6-8 weeks before your last frost.) Starting seeds too early can stress seedlings, which can stunt their growth and lead to weaker and less productive plants later in the season.
